Overview
Role: Structural Engineer • Location: Ipswich • Salary: Up to £43,000 depending on experience
Our client is in need of an experienced Structural Engineer who is competent in the design of all the regularly used construction materials and building forms. The practice has a wide and varied workload, and to deal with this, the candidate must have the following.
Responsibilities
- Use ingenuity and creativity to resolve complex engineering and wider problems.
- Demonstrate a good grasp of the behaviour of structures.
- Apply knowledge across design work for civil and/or structural engineering projects.
- Work within a busy practice with a solid workload, contributing to continuity in staffing and project delivery.
Qualifications
- BSc/BEng/MSc/MEng in civil and/or structural engineering.
- Minimum four years as a design engineer.
- Desirable: Chartered structural engineer or near chartered;
- Desirable: able to carry out surveys and produce reports;
- Desirable: working knowledge of structural timber;
- Desirable: able to use AutoCAD and produce drawings and sketches by hand;
- Desirable: understands and desires to work with historic buildings;
- Desirable: interest in ecologically sound and energy efficient buildings.
