Job summary

A condition monitoring services provider is looking for a Stores Assistant to manage stock levels and assist with various warehouse tasks at their Odiham location. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, able to work independently and in a team. Responsibilities include preparing Kit orders and maintaining records. Basic salary starts at £25,000 per annum with benefits including 28 days annual leave and a contributory pension scheme.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain stock and prepare Kit orders efficiently.
  • Assist with warehouse tasks including driving Company vehicles.
  • General housekeeping to maintain a tidy Kit area.
  • Assemble and pack sample Kits for dispatch.
  • Control the electronic Stock Control system.
  • Liaise with Accounts and Sales & Marketing as necessary.
  • Arrange couriers for sample Kit deliveries.
  • Check items received against Company Quality Assurance procedures.

Location

A Stores Assistant vacancy is available at our headquarters in Odiham, Hampshire.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain adequate stock and prepare and dispatch Kit orders efficiently to meet customer requirements.
  • Assist with general warehouse/facilities tasks, including driving the Company vehicles as required — carrying passengers, goods, fluids or other samples for laboratory testing, making other collections/deliveries, and doing general errands as requested.
  • General housekeeping to maintain a clean, tidy and orderly Kit area.
  • Assemble and pack sample Kits ready for dispatch.
  • Control the electronic Stock Control system and maintain specified stock levels.
  • Liaise with Accounts and Sales & Marketing as appropriate.
  • Arrange couriers to collect sample Kits for delivery.
  • Take delivery of goods-in, checking items as described in Company Quality Assurance procedures.
  • Maintain records.
  • Driving, e.g., to make collections and deliveries, as required.
  • Ad hoc items of general basic maintenance, as required.
  • Undertake other duties, as may reasonably be requested.
  • Part of the work involves some manual handling/lifting.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Be enthusiastic, motivated, with a willingness to learn, who can use their initiative and think independently.
  • Be able to work well in a team; be presentable, and have a professional and orderly nature.
  • Have multi-task experience and be able to work without constant supervision.
  • Be a careful, methodical and orderly worker.
  • Have a flexible attitude and be able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Have a reasonable standard of Maths and English and legible handwriting.
  • Be PC literate and familiar with Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Have a full clean driving licence with category B. Further driving categories of B+E, C1 and C1+E would be an advantage but are not essential.
Salary and Working Hours

The starting salary is £25,000 pa rising to £26,000 pa after successful probation. Basic working hours are Monday to Friday, 37½ hours per week, 7½ hours per day. Normal day time start/end times to be agreed and set with the manager.
