Overview

To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whilst reflecting the philosophy of care. To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy. Experienced Band 5 post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient-centred, evidence based nursing care. This advert is open to registered or newly qualified nurses.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centred care daily in the outpatient setting in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the GOPD in the absence of the Senior Sister and Senior Staff Nurse, supporting the delivery of clinical, evidence-based nursing care.
  • Support learners on chosen pathways; mentorship experience is advantageous.
  • Participate in flexible working patterns over a rota basis.
  • Communicate effectively, work as part of a team, and maintain a high standard of nursing care with team support.
Qualifications
  • Qualified or newly qualified nurse.
  • Experience of working in a hospital environment is desirable.
  • RGN status is highly valued; development and training within this role will be offered and prioritised.
  • Experience of providing mentorship is advantageous.
