We are excited to invite you to join the dedicated Medical Acute Dependency Unit (MADU) nursing team at Wexham Park Hospital, part of the Medicine Directorate.

Our 16‑beded MADU provides high‑quality care for acutely unwell patients, with facilities for full cardiac monitoring and non‑invasive ventilation. We deliver level 1 and level 2 care for a wide range of conditions, including:

  • Gastrointestinal bleeds
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
  • Type 1 & Type 2 respiratory failure requiring non‑invasive ventilation
  • Heart failure
  • Severe electrolyte imbalances
  • Central and arterial line monitoring

This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced nurses seeking a new direction and newly qualified nurses nearing the end of training.

  • Provision of nursing care for patients with a variety of acute conditions
  • Co‑ordinating the care of patients across the multi-disciplinary team
  • Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual patient care with minimal supervision
  • To work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that treatments are correctly carried out in accordance with given policy
