Job description

Sports Coach Apprentice

Hours of work; 31 hours per week

Apprenticeship Minimum Wage depending on the age of the successful candidate

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, well organised Sport Coach Apprentice to assist with the delivery of our PE curriculum and extracurricular programme. This is an excellent opportunity to start a career pathway in PE and sport. The school will support the successful candidate whilst they are studying towards their Level 2 Activity Leadership.

Duties

• Assisting in the delivery of PE lessons throughout the school, including supporting small groups of pupils to secure PE skills or to enhance the skills of more able pupils
• Support the existing, strong sports provision in the school including group activities during break and dinner times
• Organise and lead extra-curricular clubs, following a period of mentoring
• Attend sports fixtures and events with PE coaches throughout the year
• Record pupil progress information during lessons

Pay and Progress

• From April 2025, the hourly rates per hour for apprentices are:
• £12.21 (aged 21 and over)
• £10 (aged 18 to 20)
• £7.55 (aged under 18)
• £7.55 (apprentice rate)
