A specialized educational institution in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a Speech and Language Therapist to join their Therapy team. The role involves managing therapy sessions and working closely with young people with ASD. Candidates may be experienced or newly qualified. Aspris Strathmore College are recruiting for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our Therapy team. We are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our therapy team. The successful candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team, which may suit someone experienced in a special needs environment or newly qualified, who will be required to work closely with other Speech and Language Therapists and other professionals providing support to students; reporting to the Therapy Manager.
Strathmore College is an SEN college for students aged 19 to 25. Each of our learners work on a completely individual programme which is specifically structured to support them into employment and to gain an increased level of independence as they prepare for adulthood. Good links with employers enable learners to develop skills in the workplace to support their transition.
The Strathmore College building itself acts as a central hub from which a vast range of community-based learning takes place. Community-based learning is central to our ethos, with learners engaging in a lot of practical, hands‑on activities and work-based learning.
Experience working with young people with ASD is essential. Experience in a special‑needs environment or a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist will be considered.
All applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post, including checks with the Disclosure & Barring Service and at least two references covering the last three years.
