Responsibilities

• Provide expert support and guidance on the electronic prescribing and medicines administration (ePMA) system, ensuring safe and effective use within the Trust.
• Work with clinicians to develop treatment protocols, input and test them prior to implementation, linking with Medicines Information, the Medicines Safety Committee, and the Drug & Therapeutics Committee as required.
• Actively support the ePR Programme with ePR projects, including the rollout of ePMA to new areas by undertaking duties related to training staff and floor-walking during go-live. This may include non-standard shifts and weekend working as part of a team of ePR floorwalkers.
• Contribute to the development of the ePMA system by identifying areas that can enhance clinical practice.
• Be the first point of contact for highly specialised ePMA information, advice, and support to ePMA users.
• Write and implement standard operating procedures relevant to ePMA use within the Trust.
• Identify, record, and manage clinical and medicines management risks associated with the ePMA system to minimise risk to patients.
• Build database drug files for ePMA and ensure correct links are implemented to ensure accurate system alerts.

ePMA and Pharmacy Systems

1. To be the first port of call for providing highly specialised ePMA information, advice and support to ePMA users
