Overview

Qualified Social Worker - Leaving Care
Swansea

Contract role: up to £38.43 per hour Umbrella (in line with ADSS pledge). The role is a 3-month contract initially, with potential to extend. The position is covering a permanent vacancy being recruited for. Pay rate: £30.50 PAYE / £38.43 Umbrella. This is a full-time position (37 hours per week) with hybrid working: 3 days per week from an office on Kingsway in Swansea and the rest home-based.

The Bays project 16+ team aims to achieve the best long-term outcomes for the young people they work with. The team supports 16–21 year olds who have an allocated Social Worker and Personal Advisor, supported as looked-after children in line with procedures. At age 18, the Social Worker is no longer allocated and the Personal Advisor becomes the primary worker. The role mainly involves reviewing Pathway Plans and developing and implementing care plans with key partners, supporting the transition into adulthood. Focus areas include independence skills, housing, finances and budgeting support, education and employment, health and well-being, and relationships.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months experience of working in the UK as a registered social worker
  • A relevant Social Work Qualification
  • Registration with Social Care Wales / Social Work England
  • Enhanced DBS, registered on the update service or willingness to apply for a DBS
  • 3 years of referencing
  • Driving license with access to a car
