A local authority in the UK is seeking an experienced Social Worker for a fixed term role in Coventry. This position focuses on delivering experienced social work services to children and families, ensuring their needs are assessed and rights safeguarded. We are looking for a Social Worker to join our help and protection area team in the south of the city on a fixed term, 12‑month basis covering maternity leave December 2025 – December 2026. As a Social Worker in Coventry, you will work with diverse communities and deliver experienced social work services to children, young people and families to assess their needs, provide support and safeguard their rights. You will collaborate with other professionals and agencies to deliver person‑centred and holistic services, supporting children, young people and families from a variety of backgrounds. To deliver the best possible care it is vital that we have a workforce that represents and understands the unique experiences and perspectives of those communities.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment will be conditional on a satisfactory police check via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
You will need to have a recognised professional Social Work qualification (MA/BA/BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work or CQSW) and Social Work England registration, with experience in worked with looked‑after children, child protection, court proceedings and completing assessments within timescales.
