Job description

Meta Media Group is seeking a creative and strategic Social Media Manager to shape and deliver the global social media presence of its core arts titles. This is a key role that bridges editorial and audience engagement, helping to grow reach and visibility across multiple platforms and regions. This role reports to the Senior Digital Editor and Editor-in-Chief

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and implement the flow of editorial social media content across Media Media’s arts titles, including ArtReview, ArtReview Asia, ArtReview Chinese Edition, and The Art Journal
  • Platforms include: Facebook, Instagram, X, Threads, LinkedIn, Bluesky, TikTok, and WeChat (working in coordination with London and Shanghai-based editors).
  • Develop and refine platform-specific social media strategies to maximise reach and engagement while maintaining the titles’ distinctive editorial tone and identity.
  • Post and adapt content from print and online editions to a global audience, driving traffic and visibility.
  • Plan and execute paid campaigns using a set budget, including defining objectives, targeting, and performance optimisation.
  • Design and produce social graphics and moving image assets where needed, as well as videos for social channels.
  • Generate new ideas and initiatives for audience engagement and follower growth.
  • Track performance and engagement data to optimise posting schedules and formats in line with editorial goals.
  • Provide weekly social performance reports with insights and takeaways for the editorial team.
  • Collaborate with editors and sales staff to support sponsored or partnership content delivery across social platforms.

Candidate Requirements:

  • You are an experienced social media professional with a strong track record in publishing, media, or cultural sectors.
  • Knowledgeable about the contemporary art world and the tone required for global audiences across different platforms.
  • Confident developing both organic and paid social strategies and optimising for growth and engagement.
  • Comfortable with analytics, able to draw insights and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Skilled in content creation, with a good visual eye and working knowledge of design tools.
  • Organised, collaborative, and capable of working across time zones and teams with minimal supervision.
  • This is a part-time position (equivalent of 4x days per week)
