Job summary

A leading insurance recruitment firm is seeking a professional to manage SME commercial policies in a hybrid role based in Alnwick. The position focuses on handling renewals, mid-term adjustments, and supporting the Corporate team during a maternity leave period. Candidates should have prior experience in broking/SME roles, particularly with Motor and Fleet policies. Applicants must demonstrate strong organisational skills and familiarity with Acturis. This role offers a hybrid working environment with three days in the office and two from home.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a broking/SME handling role (Commercial lines).
• Strong knowledge of Motor and Fleet policies.
• Experience using Acturis preferred.

Job description

Location: Bolton, Hybrid role - 3 days in office, 2 from home

Purpose of role

To support the team during a maternity leave period, handling SME commercial accounts with a focus on renewals, MTAs, and some new business. Initially renewals‑heavy to build pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Manage SME commercial policies across Motor, Fleet, Shops, Tradesmen, Liability, and BI
• Handle renewals, mid‑term adjustments (MTAs), and occasional new business
• Provide support to the wider Corporate and Senior broking team
• Deliver a high standard of service in line with company and FCA guidelines

Day‑to‑day

• Process client documentation and renewals through Acturis
• Liaise with insurers and clients for terms, queries, and cover requirements
• Maintain accurate records and update systems accordingly
• Work both independently and alongside account handlers/executives

Experience

• Previous experience in a broking/SME handling role (Commercial lines)
• Strong knowledge of Motor and Fleet policies
• Experience using Acturis preferred

Skills
