Job Description

PE Global is currently recruiting for a Skilled Mechanical Fitter for a leading multinational client that provides equipment and components for oil and gas drilling and production operations based in Middleton/Manchester. This is an initial 3 months contract position with potential to go permanent, paying up to £16.81 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble Pump & Mixer equipment following company procedures.
  • Fit components and/or modules as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues during build/install to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
  • Conduct production tests according to established procedures and complete accurate test reports.
  • Ensure assembled components are fit for purpose.
  • Operate machines or use hand and power tools to secure parts.
  • Operate equipment safely, producing products that meet quality standards.
  • Record work for tracking purposes.
Education and Experience
  • Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, equivalent to City and Guilds Level 3 or NVQ Level 3 (essential).
  • HNC / HND qualification or equivalent with a Mechanical Engineering focus (desirable).
  • Experience as a mechanical fitter in valves, machinery building, compressors, etc., but not automotive.
  • Experience with PC pumps and wastewater product assemblies (desirable).
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Seals (desirable).
  • Extensive experience with PC pumps and wastewater products, preferably in a service environment (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) (essential).
  • Manual handling, slinging, and lifting training (essential).
  • HSE awareness (essential).
  • Basic electrical experience (desirable).
  • Motor wiring certification (desirable).
