- Working knowledge of Health and Safety, Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015
- Working knowledge of highway legislation
- Working knowledge of the different NEC forms of contract and necessary knowledge / contractual awareness to undertake NEC Supervisor activities when on site on behalf of the client
- Working knowledge of relevant construction specifications, methodologies, and technical guidance documents
- Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
- Practical experience in the design and maintenance of highway, cycling, structures and transport projects and standards
- Methodical approach to workload management, enquiries, and record keeping, including IT systems for inspections
- Ability to analyse technical issues, identify solutions, and advise developers/contractors promptly
- Ability to implement quality management processes and prepare technical reports
- Ability to keep accurate site diaries, understanding large construction sites and managing plant, labour, and materials within the highways sector
- Experience working with external partners, consultants, and contractors
- Experience monitoring and managing contractor performance
- Full UK Driving License
