Quality Engineer - Major Civil Engineering Project | Bridgwater, Somerset | Permanent Role

We're recruiting on behalf of a leading civil engineering contractor for an experienced Quality Engineer to join the team on a major infrastructure project in Bridgwater. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the UK's top-tier civils contractors on a high-profile, long-term scheme with excellent career prospects.

The Role

As Quality Engineer, you'll be a key part of the project delivery team — ensuring all works are carried out to the highest quality standards and in full compliance with project specifications, drawings, and client requirements. You'll support site operations by managing inspection processes, documentation, and quality assurance procedures.

Key responsibilities include:

• Implementing and monitoring quality management systems on site
• Preparing and maintaining Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and related documentation
• Conducting site inspections, audits, and testing coordination
• Managing non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions
• Liaising with engineers, subcontractors, and the client to resolve quality issues
• Supporting continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with company and project standards

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Quality Engineer, QA/QC Engineer, or Site Engineer on civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of QA processes, documentation, and testing procedures
• Knowledge of heavy civils, concrete, earthworks, or reinforced structures preferred
• Excellent communication and reporting skills
• HNC/D or degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• CSCS card essential; quality or auditing qualifications desirable
