Role Overview

We are looking to recruit to complement our already excellent experienced team of Band 7 Sisters/Charge Nurses. The Band 7 Nurse Coordinator is responsible for the effective coordination and delivery of high‑quality patient care within the ED.

We provide all staff with educational development through our departmental education team and promote an active coaching environment for all staff.

We also provide a Band 7 development package for new staff within the Emergency Department.

Are you an experienced Emergency Department Nurse looking to develop yourself within a senior sister role, do you have experience as a Band 6 Nurse within ED, are you committed to providing excellent patient care within a busy department working within local and national targets, do you have excellent communication skills and good time‑management skills along with the ability to work in a well‑established and dynamic team, if so then this may be the job for you.

Responsibilities
  • Manage patient flow and support the MDT.
  • Provide visible leadership, clinical expertise and operational oversight to maintain the standards of emergency nursing care in alignment with national targets, trust policies and professional standards.
  • Maintain high standards of nursing practice, infection prevention and patient safety.
  • Provide support and guide nursing staff, ensuring appropriate clinical decision‑making and escalation when required.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice.
  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care, ensuring safe and timely assessment, treatment and discharge/admission in line with the Emergency Department’s KPIs 24/7.
