Job description

We’re looking for a Maintenance Electrician to assist with daily electrical maintenance tasks, both in the field and in the workshop, on a shift basis. This hands-on role emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and maintaining operational efficiency. You will be part of a team responsible for electrical systems, ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards. If you are reliable, safety-conscious, and possess a strong understanding of electrical work, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Adhering to all safety procedures, systems, and policies, including permit-to-work and risk assessments.
  2. Performing plant isolations and issuing permits when authorized.
  3. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment after completing tasks.
  4. Conducting electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on equipment such as motors, transformers, switchgear, breakers, and lighting.
  5. Carrying out inspections, calibrations, and data collection to identify potential equipment issues early.
  6. Supporting root cause analysis and contributing to corrective actions.
  7. Utilizing maintenance software to generate work requests and update equipment history.
  8. Collaborating with other departments to coordinate repairs and inspections.
  9. Ensuring effective shift handovers and completing shift reports.
  10. Participating in training to enhance skills and performing additional tasks as needed.
Minimum qualifications and experience:
  1. HND or equivalent educational qualification.
  2. Time-served Electrical Technician or similar experience.
  3. At least 5-6 years of demonstrable experience working with heavy-duty machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  4. Electrical Regulation 17th Edition (preferred).
  5. Comprehensive knowledge of electrical maintenance activities including HV, LV, motor control circuits, automation, and instrumentation.
  6. Understanding of safety requirements and procedures.
  7. Experience with maintenance methods, tools, and systems.
  8. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  9. Ability to read and interpret electrical and process control drawings.
  10. Willingness to embrace change and pursue continuous improvement.
