Job Summary

The Urology Clinical Trials Research Unit delivers research for prostate and bladder cancers. As Senior Trial Manager you will develop, sponsor‑manage and oversee our RM‑sponsored portfolio, liaising with R&D, investigators, sponsors, monitors, auditors and external CROs to ensure trials run well, comply with regulations and generate high‑quality data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage set‑up, conduct and compliance of RM‑sponsored clinical trials in the urology unit.
  • Lead the administrative team and oversee budget and financial sustainability of the unit.
  • Drive business development to build a balanced commercial and non‑commercial research portfolio.
  • Coordinate trial support across all uro‑oncology studies, provide line management to admin staff and maintain data quality and query resolution.
  • Ensure performance issues are dealt with timely, following Trust disciplinary procedures when formal action is required.
Person Specification
Education & Qualifications
  • Life sciences (or equivalent) degree or relevant experience.
  • Recent GCP training.
  • Desirable: Higher degree (MSc) and project management qualification.
Experience & Knowledge
  • Clinical trial coordinator/manager experience in UK setting.
  • In‑depth knowledge of GCP, UK trial regulations and sponsor‑managed trial management.
  • Budget management and data quality oversight experience.
  • Experience managing/supervising admin staff in oncology clinical trials.
  • Desirable: NHS/pharma setting experience and protocol development history.
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong organisational, administrative and IT skills (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent oral and written communication, problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, work autonomously and manage changing priorities.
  • Desirable: Experience developing efficient systems and processes for clinical trial conduct.
Benefits & Working Conditions

Full‑time fixed‑term contract (24 months), band 7 salary £56,276‑£63,176 pa, working pattern full‑time, remote working permitted, flexible working requests welcomed.
