Job Title: Senior / Principal Transport Planner
Location: Bristol or Plymouth
Team: Development Planning
Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Flexible Working: Yes - hybrid model available
Responsibilities
- Lead or support the preparation of Transport Assessments, Statements, and Travel Plans for development planning applications.
- Contribute to transport strategies, access design and feasibility studies for new developments.
- Undertake junction and network modelling (e.g. ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG).
- Liaise with clients, architects, local authorities, and project teams to progress schemes through planning.
- Support junior staff and contribute to mentoring and team development.
- Contribute to fee proposals, project planning, and client relationship management (particularly at Principal level).
- Identify new work opportunities and assist in business development (at Principal level).
Requirements
- A degree in Transport Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering or similar.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in transport or development planning consultancy.
- Experience in writing technical reports to support planning applications.
- Familiarity with design standards and guidance such as the NPPF, Manual for Streets, and DMRB.
- Proficient in transport modelling and analysis software such as ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRICS.
- Strong communication and report-writing skills.
- Chartered or working towards chartership (CIHT, TPS or similar) preferred.
