Senior Specialist Spinal/Neurological Physiotherapist - Chedington

Chedington is Hobbs new state of the art site which is growing rapidly. This is allowing us to build upon our already experienced multidisciplinary team to offer exceptional rehabilitation to more clients. Chedington has exciting Neurotechnology, including the only UK Lokomat able to treat both paediatrics and adults. We are imaginative with our approach, using activities such as paddleboarding on site and rock climbing to challenge clients within functional and enjoyable tasks, with space to take clients on adaptive cycle rides while maintaining a strong focus on excellence in therapy.

We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic experienced neurophysiotherapist to join our existing MDT at this world-class facility, providing intensive rehabilitation for adults and children with neurological conditions including stroke, TBI, SCI, polytrauma and amputation. We are committed to research and technology, supporting staff and clients to achieve their potential through involvement in research projects, development of services using advanced technology, and CPD and training opportunities.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Physiotherapist will join Hobbs Chedington at an early stage of service development, helping shape what we offer. Referrals come from medico-legal, NHS, therapist-led, charity-based and self-referral sources. Hobbs partners with organisations such as RFU Injured Players Foundation, Help for Heroes, Injured Jockey Fund and the Spinal Injury Association.

The Senior Physiotherapist will work as part of an experienced multidisciplinary team with inpatient and outpatient clients who have complex neurological conditions (Stroke, Traumatic Brain Injuries, Spinal Injuries, poly-trauma including amputees). The post-holder will have excellent clinical skills and experience in neurological rehabilitation across the clinical pathway, including assessment, treatment planning and discharge planning. Supervision and training will be provided, with access to CPD opportunities and involvement in national/global research projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

COMMUNICATION

  • Communicate in a manner that positively represents Hobbs Rehabilitation at all times
  • Communicate professionally with team members, external stakeholders, patients and carers
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in line with policies
  • Use advanced communication skills to deliver clinical advice and treatment sensitively

CLINICAL

  • Practice safely within legal and ethical boundaries

  • Evaluate results, generate diagnoses and plan care
  • Formulate patient-centred goals with the MDT
  • Provide high-quality one-to-one and group interventions across settings (inpatient, outpatient, home, care homes, community)
  • Use outcome measures to track progress and adapt goals
  • Collaborate with MDT to ensure patient safety and clinical effectiveness
  • Plan caseloads with service lead and team, readjusting as needed
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical notes and write discharge reports
