Operate portable single cameras and multi‑camera shoots, ensuring framing, focus, exposure, and sound meet the highest standards. Film interviews, documentaries, features, commercials, press conferences, matches, and football content. Set up and operate Live U for outside broadcasts and live productions, maintaining clear communication via talkback.
Safely pack and transport broadcast equipment to external and overseas locations. Follow health and safety regulations during rigging under tight time constraints. Set up tripods, cameras, microphones, and portable lighting rigs, while delegating tasks and providing clear instructions to crew.
Offer expert advice and creative ideas to achieve the producer’s vision. Adapt to changing filming requirements, resolve issues on shoots, and self‑shoot when necessary. Assist with decisions on recording formats and codecs for specific filming needs.
Continuously develop skills by adopting new camera and lighting techniques. Maintain thorough knowledge of camera, lighting, and sound equipment, refining practices to enhance visual quality across productions.
To be successful for this role, you’ll have experience as a professional camera operator and extensive knowledge of lighting and sound techniques. You must be able to operate and set up studio cameras, equipment, and accessories, anticipate shot development, and adapt lighting practices for internal and external shoots. Strong skills in recording high‑quality sound on location, good colour vision, and excellent hand‑to‑eye coordination are essential. Experience operating remote studio cameras, jib, gallery lighting, and racks systems is required, along with the ability to determine and prepare the appropriate broadcast equipment for each production.
We’re looking for someone who stays up to date with the latest filming methods and equipment, with excellent knowledge of current and future broadcasting solutions. This is a full‑time permanent role working 35 hours per week. Your main base will be our Chapel Street office in Liverpool.
