Job description

Join our Emergency Department at Charing Cross Hospital as a Registrar in Emergency Medicine (ST3+), where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering urgent care within a renowned NHS trust. This position offers the chance to develop as a senior clinical decision-maker, supported by experienced consultants and a culture that values education, research, and professional growth. You'll be part of a diverse, motivated team, gaining exposure to a wide range of acute medical and surgical cases in a supportive and innovative environment.

Main duties of the job

As a Registrar, you'll assess and manage patients presenting with a variety of urgent and emergency conditions, working across all areas of the department including rapid assessment, resuscitation, and ambulatory care. You'll initiate investigations and treatments, develop management plans, and perform advanced procedures such as cannulation and chest drain insertion. The role also involves supervising junior colleagues, participating in teaching and quality improvement projects, and developing your leadership skills, with opportunities for further training in anaesthetics, intensive care, and paediatrics.

  • UK Exams (MRCEM / MRCP)
  • Currently working at Registrar level
  • Able to lead the department as a senior decision-maker

Higher qualifications
  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice
