Senior Quantity Surveyor - £200m Birmingham Residential Project


Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + Car/Allowance, Bonus, and Comprehensive Package


Are you a talented and ambitious Quantity Surveyor looking to take the next step in your career with a major player in the construction industry?


I am partnering with a leading national main contractor, a business with a £500m turnover and an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality residential and industrial projects up to £200m. They have recently secured a landmark £200m residential development in Birmingham and are now seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.



Responsibilities


  • Assisting in the preparation of cost plans, estimates, and bills of quantities.

  • Managing and monitoring project costs to ensure they remain within budget.

  • Administering sub-contractor accounts from procurement to final account.

  • Preparing and submitting monthly valuations and payment applications.

  • Managing variations, claims, and final accounts.

  • Conducting on-site measurements and valuations.

  • Working collaboratively with the site team and project manager to ensure commercial success.



The Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record of working on large-scale construction projects. You will be a strong negotiator with excellent communication and organizational skills.



Essential Requirements


  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on residential, commercial, or mixed-use projects.

  • A solid understanding of NEC and JCT contracts.

  • Experience working for a main contractor is essential.

  • Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant QS software.

  • Based in or willing to commute to the Birmingham area.
