Senior Project Manager

The Company

We are dealing with a hugely successful system integration business who deliver large scale complex automation projects to a number of sectors. The company carries a big competitive advantage over their competitors as they engineer, design, manufacture and integrate allowing them to tailor solutions to their customers needs.

The business has seen huge growth in the past decade expanding from a £10 million turnover to in excess of £50 million and they deliver projects that can range from £250,000 up to £10 million in value.

The Role

The role of Senior Project Manager will see you running projects which can range from £250,000 up to £10 million in value. You may be running one very large project or handling multiple smaller projects at one time. Your role will involve:

  • Taking the lead on projects from hand over with sales
  • Assembling the engineering team required to deliver the project (mechanical design, electrical design, controls and manufacture)
  • Plan the stages of the project and assess project scope for key risks for mitigation
  • Assigning workload to the project team
  • Leading weekly and bi-weekly project reviews with your project team
  • Managing customer relationship for the duration of the project
  • Ensuring projects hit major markers for delivery, completion and costs

The Candidate

To be successful in your application for this Senior Project Manager role you will need:

  • Experience in leading projects for either automation, process equipment or plant machinery
  • To have a supporting engineering qualification
  • To be a strong communicator who can build credibility with customers and project teams
  • To have a commercial focus to ensure projects deliver to budget
  • To be able to galvanise project teams and create vision
  • To be someone who enjoys the responsibility of high value projects
