Job summary

An engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Manager in Newcastle upon Tyne to design, plan, and deliver project works ensuring compliance with NPg standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge in electricity distribution and management of multiple projects. Candidates should have at least 10 years of experience and a degree in Electrical Engineering. The role offers hybrid working, combining home and office, while ensuring high-quality delivery and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in the electricity distribution and/or transmission industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge across all distribution asset classes.
  • Demonstrable experience managing both major projects and high-volume workstreams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience on CDM notifiable projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and deliver NPg project works from feasibility to completion.
  • Administer contracts, tenders, and manage ongoing contract management.
  • Ensure delivery meets NPg quality and environmental standards.
  • Lead project teams and manage stakeholder engagement.
  • Conduct audits and contribute to NPg audit programmes.
