A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an indirect procurement category leader to join a major player in the UK financial services sector. This role offers the chance to influence commercial strategy, drive category innovation, and be a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders - all within a regulated, complex, and fast-paced environment.
As a Category & Sourcing Manager, you will:
Take ownership of strategic sourcing and category management across a key spend portfolio
Develop multi-year strategies based on market trends, supplier data, and commercial insights
Lead complex sourcing initiatives that materially impact the cost-income ratio
Build and maintain senior relationships with both internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers
Act as deputy to senior leadership and serve as a subject matter expert on procurement best practices
Enable supplier-led innovation and continuously improve supplier performance
Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and third-party risk management policies
This role sits at the core of the commercial operating model and will offer a platform to shape sourcing strategies at an enterprise level.
Experience in strategic procurement or category management
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and high-value sourcing events
Strong commercial acumen and contract negotiation skills
Experience advising and influencing at senior levels, including Exec
Exceptional analytical ability - translating data into strategy
A track record of delivering tangible cost and business benefits
Understanding of SRM principles, third-party risk, and end-to-end sourcing lifecycle
Ideally, CIPS qualified and with financial services experience (desirable, not essential)
Access to C-suite and the opportunity to influence at strategic decision-making tables
