A leading defense contractor is seeking a Senior/Principal Platform Systems Mechanical Engineer in Barrow-in-Furness. In this role, you will develop design evidence, mentor junior engineers, and engage in complex projects. What you’ll be doing includes developing the package of design evidence required to justify a safe, effective design and generate customer confidence in the design solution; specifying and assisting in the build of prototypes, products and systems suitable for testing; providing timely corrective actions on all assigned defects and issues; ensuring commitments are agreed, reviewed and met; mentoring junior engineers regarding technical matters; making presentations to technical and management audiences and identifying novel technical concepts and markets; author/co-authoring technical reports, papers, articles, patents and presentations as required.

The T&C Engineering Support team: Being a part of the team, you will have a great opportunity to be involved in the planning and reactive support to ensure that the engineering aspects of testing and commissioning activities are undertaken in a safe and appropriate way whilst ensuring design intent are maintained.
