Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of the child protection team by mentoring and supporting staff, promoting good practice through training sessions and workshops.
  • Manage a diverse and complex caseload, conducting in-depth assessments, designing safety plans, and ensuring the welfare and protection of the children under your care.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and actively participate in child protection investigations, as well as court proceedings when necessary, always working within legal and policy frameworks.
  • Collaborate effectively with families, caregivers, other agencies, and community networks to coordinate services and ensure culturally sensitive and appropriate care for all children, especially those from marginalised backgrounds.
  • Offer practice expertise and consultation to enhance the skills of fellow social workers, providing training and guidance to improve service quality and consistency.
  • Engage actively in service development initiatives and help drive measurable improvements in line with organisational objectives and policies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of your social work activities, ensuring full compliance with data protection and organisational standards.
