Senior Pharmacy Assistant for Manufacturing

We are looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our friendly aseptic services team in our unlicensed aseptic preparation unit. We welcome applications from enthusiastic and motivated individuals ideally with a working knowledge of the aseptic department.

We are dedicated to helping you to develop your talent, therefore training, and development opportunities tailored to you will be provided in this role. This will start with enrolment onto an accredited Science Manufacturing Process Operative qualification with on-going support and mentorship.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include aseptically preparing chemotherapy, environmental monitoring, planning the supply and dispensing of oral chemotherapy and supportive medicines, assembling emergency drug boxes, production of worksheet for products to be prepared against, checking worksheets and labels, setting up and checking trays and to be involved with stock ordering and control.

You will need to possess or be willing to work towards an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmaceutical Sciences, or equivalent level qualification.

All applicants must have excellent communication skills, be flexible and be able to work accurately, under pressure, as part of a team and independently. A good level of English, Maths and Science (GCSE level or equivalent) and computer skills are essential. You will be expected to join the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and Bank Holiday and late duty rotas.
