About the Team

The Lambeth Parks Team are responsible for managing over 80 parks and open spaces across Lambeth. These spaces are a valuable resource for Lambeth’s residents and visitors, essential for their health, wellbeing and quality of life. We are proud to have 26 Green Flag Award winning parks in the borough and take pride in ensuring they remain a great asset for the Lambeth community and future generations to enjoy. Our grounds maintenance service is run in house, through Lambeth Landscapes.

About the Role

This is a great opportunity to support Lambeth Landscapes in delivering high‑quality grounds maintenance and cleansing services across Ruskin Park and various other parks, open spaces and contracted private sites. The Senior Park Attendant will supervise small front‑line teams when required, ensuring work meets agreed specifications, safety standards, customer expectations and environmental objectives. The role is responsible for guiding volunteer groups, for example the Friends of Ruskin Park weekly litter pick and gardening groups.

The role includes monitoring performance, maintaining equipment, implementing service improvements and digital technologies, as well as ensuring efficient and safe operations. The post holder will act as a public‑facing representative of the council, managing enquiries, resolving issues on site, and supporting continuous improvement in service delivery.

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental standards relevant to park operations.
  • Supervision and management of small teams.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with digital tools and technology in maintenance contexts.
