Job summary

A leading insurance services firm is seeking an experienced Senior Outward Reinsurance Technician. In this key role, you will manage reinsurance asset management and technical processing while ensuring compliance and timely delivery across multiple client accounts. Strong organisational, communication skills and 5+ years' experience in outward reinsurance are required. This position is fully remote with a 6-month contract and salary to be discussed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outward reinsurance experience within the Lloyd’s/Company markets.
• Strong understanding of reinsurance structures, market practices and regulation.
• Ability to interpret insurance documentation and engage meaningfully with operations and underwriting teams.

Job description

We’re supporting a leading insurance services firm in the Lloyd’s Markets as they look to appoint an experienced Senior Outward Reinsurance Technician. This is a key role within their operations team, focused on delivering high-quality reinsurance processing, oversight and client service across multiple accounts.

As a Senior Outward Reinsurance Technician, you’ll take ownership of reinsurance asset management and technical processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance and timely delivery across a broad portfolio of clients. You’ll act as a point of expertise within the team, supporting colleagues, strengthening client relationships and helping to solve technical or process-driven challenges as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage reinsurance assets in line with procedure guides and SLAs
• Prepare, calculate and issue recoveries, premiums and IBNRs; process entries into client systems
• Handle internal and external queries with cedants, reinsurers and client contacts
• Maintain accurate, compliant reinsurance records to meet operational, audit and regulatory requirements
• Support a positive, collaborative team environment and act as a role model for best practice
• Work across multiple client accounts when required and assist other teams
• Operate in line with company policies, regulatory frameworks and service-specific guidelines

Qualifications

• 5+ years of outward reinsurance experience within the Lloyd’s/Company markets
• Strong understanding of reinsurance structures, market practices and regulation
• Ability to interpret insurance documentation and engage meaningfully with operations and underwriting teams
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Able to work independently while contributing positively to team goals
• Lloyd’s Introductory Test or CII qualifications preferred
• Awareness of current market developments and initiatives

Can be worked fully-remote.

6-month contract, with a view for external extension.
