Job description

Senior Network Engineer

Location: Birmingham (UK-based with global travel as required)

Full-time | Permanent

We are partnered with a global leading business based in the Midlands who are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our core Infrastructure function. This is a hands-on role focused on supporting and modernising our global on-premise networking and server hardware, alongside managing our enterprise Zscaler deployment. As a cloud-first organisation, you’ll also have the opportunity to work on Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.

Reporting to the Server and Networks Manager, you’ll collaborate with architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver resilient, secure, and scalable network services. You’ll also work closely with vendors to manage incidents and escalations, and occasionally travel to global sites for on-premise deployments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-scale networking (Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto)
• Manage Zscaler services (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, ZCC)
• Support Meraki Wi-Fi performance across offices
• Maintain server and network infrastructure (racks, cabling, UPS)
• Assist with Azure networking (VPNs, NSGs, firewalls)
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Participate in on-call rotations and global site visits

What Were Looking For

• 7+ years in server/network engineering in global enterprise environments
• 5+ years with Zscaler technologies
• Strong experience with Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Azure
• Certifications such as CCNP, CMNA, PCNSE, ZCCA-IA/PA are highly desirable
• Deep understanding of networking protocols and security principles
• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills

Salary: £70,000 + Benefits

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid once/twice a week)
