Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior HR Manager to provide a professional, proactive, and commercially focused HR generalist service across multiple jurisdictions, including Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man. This full-time role involves working 37.5 hours a week and reporting directly to the HR Director. The successful candidate will play a vital part in fostering a positive and inclusive culture, driving employee engagement, and enhancing organisational effectiveness. They will have end-to-end responsibility for managing and delivering HR services. This includes ensuring compliance with local employment laws and aligning people support with business objectives. The Senior HR Manager will also focus on continuous improvement throughout the employee lifecycle while overseeing compliance and quality assurance of HR data and practices. The role is integral to the alignment of HR standards and practices across the organisation, and collaboration with HR colleagues is expected to streamline processes and initiatives.

Job Duties
  • Manage and develop HR team members, ensuring effective delivery of HR services across the employee lifecycle.
  • Drive alignment of HR standards, policies, and practices across the organisation, considering local legislative requirements.
  • Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process to ensure high-quality, cost-effective hiring.
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to line managers on people-related matters, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Act as the primary owner of complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary and grievance processes.
  • Lead the engagement, wellbeing, and sustainability initiatives, including the annual employee awards.
  • Oversee the bi-annual appraisal process, ensuring consistency and fair application across the organisation.
  • Manage HR administration related to salary reviews and bonus processes effectively.
Job Requirements
  • MCIPD qualified.
  • Minimal of 5 years' experience in a broad, generalist HR role within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Proven experience advising and coaching managers on complex people matters.
  • Experience in line managing and developing HR team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organised, capable of managing competing priorities.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong IT and HR systems capability.
