Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to join our Avonmouth team. You will play a crucial role in championing safety, health, and wellbeing across our projects, advising and influencing both operational staff and senior stakeholders within a complex construction environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing expert HSW advice and support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant H&S legislation, client, and contractual requirements.
  • Supporting project documentation reviews and participating in pre-start planning meetings.
  • Leading safety inspections, site tours, and engagement activities.
  • Representing CWA in client meetings and working groups.
  • Investigating incidents and adverse events, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Delivering training sessions, briefings, and awareness campaigns.
  • Mentoring and coaching junior team members.
  • Deputizing for the HSW Manager as needed.
  • Promoting innovation and new technology to enhance safety performance.
Candidate Profile
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience managing HSW on large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Ability to influence behaviors and foster a positive safety culture.
  • NEBOSH National Diploma or equivalent (or working towards).
  • Skills in incident investigation, risk assessment, and report writing.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and behavioral safety principles.
