Overview

Are you a qualified accountant looking to make a real impact in a fast-growing, AIM-listed business? Do you thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same? Angling Direct, the UK's leading omni-channel fishing tackle retailer, are looking for a Senior Finance Manager/ Financial Controller to take ownership of critical financial control and reporting responsibilities. You'll be working in a collaborative and forward-thinking team where your insight, problem-solving skills, and commercial acumen will directly influence the future of our business.

What You Will Do
  • Lead the preparation of accurate management accounts and KPI reports with meaningful analysis.
  • Support AIM market reporting obligations, ensuring smooth interim and annual reporting cycles.
  • Maintain a strong financial control and systems environment aligned with Plc standards.
  • Oversee treasury management, including rolling cashflow forecasts and FX hedging.
  • Build and manage budgets, forecasts, and scenario models to guide decision-making.
  • Take charge of VAT and indirect tax compliance across the Group.
  • Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic business decisions.
What We Are Looking For
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Strong commercial outlook with the ability to quickly grasp business drivers.
  • Analytical, curious, and creative thinker with a data-driven approach.
  • Proven experience working under pressure and managing shifting priorities.
  • Confident communicator who can work with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advantageous experience:
    • Plc reporting & IFRS knowledge
    • Multi-site and multi-currency consolidations
  • Tech-savvy with advanced Excel skills (essential). ERP (Epicor or similar) and/or SQL experience is a big plus.
  • Available to be based in our Rackheath Head Office at least 4 days a week.
