Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Estimator with a strong background in civil engineering projects to join our team at Maxim Park - Eurocentral.

This role is ideal for an experienced Estimator who has worked on roads, highways, bridges, and other civil infrastructure projects.

You will take ownership of pricing tender opportunities, leading estimating strategies, and supporting successful project delivery across our Regional Scotland business.

What you'll be doing

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the estimating function on allocated bids, ensuring timely and accurate tender deliverables.
  • Manage and mentor estimating team members, providing commercial and technical advice.
  • Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate costings.
  • Engage with subcontractors, suppliers, and design teams to optimise value and innovative solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with Balfour Beatty's governance processes, including risk reviews and gate approvals.
  • Deliver commercial handovers to project teams post-tender to ensure smooth transition.
  • Support the continuous improvement of estimating systems, digital tools, and cost planning processes.

Who we're looking for

What You Need

  • Proven experience as a Senior Estimator within the civils sector, with exposure to roads, highways, bridges, and major infrastructure projects.
  • A valid CSCS card.
  • Strong knowledge of pricing and quantification methods.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and design proposals.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate under pressure.
  • Competence with MS Office and Estimating Systems (experience with digital tools such as BIM and 5D planning is desirable).
  • Professional membership (RICS, CIOB, ICE or similar) - desirable.
