Seccl is the Octopus‑owned embedded investment platform that's on a mission to help more people invest – and invest well.
We're B‑Corp certified with an amazing product‑market fit, impressive early traction and the potential to transform an outdated industry, for the better. We've been growing fast and will scale even faster over the next few years.
We're also proud to be part of Octopus, the £multi‑billion group that's on a mission to breathe new life into broken industries, through companies like Octopus Energy, Octopus Investments and Octopus Money.

As a Senior engineering manager – Tax Wrappers, you'll play a pivotal role in Seccl's next phase of growth. You'll lead engineering delivery across the Tax Wrappers domain, which includes core products such as SIPPs and ISAs – some of the most critical and strategically important capabilities on the Seccl platform.
This is a senior leadership role with both delivery and growth accountability. You'll initially take ownership of a single squad, while being expected to hire, build and scale a second squad within your first few months. Over time, you'll lead two squads operating in closely related or adjacent problem spaces, each typically made up of 4‑5 engineers and supported by a Product Manager.
You'll work closely with Product, Platform engineering, Compliance, and senior engineering leadership to ensure Seccl continues to deliver scalable, compliant, and market‑leading tax wrapper functionality. Your leadership will directly influence Seccl's ability to support new customer propositions, scale with confidence, and deliver increasingly complex functionality as the platform grows.
This role goes beyond day‑to‑day squad leadership: you'll help shape the technical direction, operating model, and long‑term strategy for Tax Wrappers across the platform.
Tax Wrappers is a critical growth area for Seccl. Our SIPP and ISA capabilities sit at the heart of the platform and are fundamental to how customers use and integrate with Seccl.
As the platform grows, the complexity and scale of this domain continues to increase – from account lifecycle management and transaction flows to regulatory reporting, integrations, and operational resilience. We're investing in multiple squads in this space to ensure we can deliver at pace while maintaining high standards of quality, security, and compliance.
As Senior Engineering Manager, you'll be a key leader responsible for ensuring this domain can scale sustainably and continue to support Seccl's growth ambitions over the next 12 months and beyond.
