Job summary

A consumer appliance company in London is seeking a Senior Design Engineer on a contract basis to lead the development of next-gen indoor heating appliances. You will be responsible for driving projects through hands-on prototyping and CAD work, mentoring engineers, and ensuring timely deliverables. The role offers £400-£450 per day, with a minimum of two days on site. This is an immediate start position with opportunities for contract extension.

Qualifications

• Proven delivery in volume consumer hardware as a Senior Design Engineer.
• Strong understanding of airflow, heat transfer, mechanisms, and materials.
• Fast and autonomous operator with decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical workstreams in the development of indoor heat appliances.
• Run CAD reviews, tolerance stacks, and conduct risk assessments.
• Mentor engineers and align stakeholders effectively.

DFM / DFMA knowledge

CAD fluency in SolidWorks or Creo
