Senior Design Engineer

As a Senior Design Engineer, you'll be a key member of a skilled team, responsible for the design and construction of various projects. You will lead a team of design engineers and support Project Managers and delivery teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and within budget. Your leadership will be crucial to the team's success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of design engineers, supporting Project Managers and delivery teams.
  • Analyse preconstruction data, ensuring project designs meet client specifications.
  • Solve design problems and develop solutions for mechanical equipment in power and process control.
  • Produce design deliverables (specifications, drawings, data sheets, schedules) per contract requirements.
  • Ensure design risk assessments consider innovation, safety, cost, and time constraints.
  • Provide technical support to preconstruction and project delivery teams.
  • Assist in identifying and pre-qualifying subcontractors.
  • Participate in client meetings and coordinate with third-party contractors.
  • Ensure designs are submitted and approved by the Client Project Manager.
  • Continuously develop skills and stay updated on industry innovations.
  • Ensure all design activities comply with the company's Integrated Management Systems.
  • Provide guidance to site, construction, and remote delivery teams.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements
  • Electrical engineering qualification.
  • Proven track record of design delivery.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and to lead and motivate.
  • Ability to travel, plan, manage, and prioritise workload.
