An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a small specialist team in the Dental Radiology Department, within the Newcastle Dental Hospital. You will be an enthusiastic autonomous Radiographer wishing to extend their skills and expertise whilst working in a team-based environment. The role has a high teaching commitment to a range of students. Therefore, this post will suit individuals that enjoy teaching and are confident presenting technical information to both students and colleagues.
Experience of Dental Radiography would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for a current Band 5 Radiographer looking for promotion to a Senior Specialist Radiographer, as well as substantive Band 6 Radiographers looking for a new challenge.
Applicants must hold a degree level or equivalent qualification in Diagnostic Radiography be HCPC registered and have a working knowledge of NHS Policies and Procedures.

You will provide a person‑centred approach to patient care and deliver a high standard of diagnostic imaging to a wide range of patients. Some may be dental phobic and/or be distressed, emotional and anxious. This will require excellent people skills and the ability to put patients at ease very quickly to achieve the required high quality diagnostic images.
The main duties will include teaching undergraduate dental and therapy students, dental nurses and BSc Radiography students in the technical application of intra‑oral and panoramic radiography. You will also perform Cone Beam CT, cephalometric radiography and assist Consultant Radiologists with ultrasound and sialography.
The post holder will be encouraged to take on additional responsibilities, including Quality Assurance, Reject Analysis, audits and teaching seminars. They will also be an element of line management responsibility.
