Purpose of the role:

We are seeking an experienced senior commercial individual who has a track record in bidding for, negotiating and managing highly complex and/or highly strategic contracts. You will have extensive commercial and contracts experience and a demonstrable track record of owning and delivering pre and post contract and commercial activity. This is a home based role with occasional travel to London.

Job Description:

What you'll be doing:


  • Commercial leadership on a strategic public sector account, involving ownership of all commercial activity across the account

  • Provide in-life client contract management support

  • Full engagement and contribution to strategic account management team on strategic and tactical forecasting/planning and implementation in accordance with business plans

  • Work with the strategic account team to realise account based opportunities through change management and new business growth

  • Identify and realise opportunities to add value through good commercial practice across account activities

  • Support & advise on commercial disputes, lead settlement negotiations and define and record settlement terms (except in case of formal dispute/litigation)

  • Act as a direct specialist point of contact to the business on all commercial matters including risk and opportunity management, contract archival, retrieval, storage

  • Develop the business relationship with the client-side procurement/contracts function

  • Provide client contract briefings and assure commercial obligations during mobilisation and/or demobilisation/exit


What we're looking for:


  • Experience in leading negotiations encompassing multiple disciplines including supplier negotiations and flow-downs

  • Excellent knowledge of contract law and its application in SW / IT / BPO environments

  • Experience in modelling and testing contractual KPIs

  • Sound financial acumen (P&L, cashflow, balance sheet) and good understanding of financial modelling, contract pricing and differing pricing models

  • Confidence in producing reports and summaries which articulate key matters for a senior and/or non-commercial audience

  • Experience in managing and securing internal approvals for new bid opportunities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in line management responsibilities of commercial colleagues

  • Strong leadership style focussed on engagement and driving to outcome

  • Strong & confident communicator able to successfully influence at all levels of the organisation, including up to Divisional Management and senior members of Functional Team

  • Previous experience in the IT managed services or networks infrastructure and services would be an advantage
