Job description
Commercial Agency Surveyor - Cambridge (Senior Role)

Are you an experienced commercial surveyor with a passion for the Cambridge property market? My client is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Agency Surveyor to join their busy and growing team in Cambridge city centre. This is a newly created senior-level position, reflecting their strong track record and ambitions to deepen their agency offering across Cambridge and the surrounding region.

Who you'll be working with

My client is part of a well-established multi-disciplinary firm that offers agency, professional and consultancy services across commercial, residential, rural and agricultural property – with a network of offices across the UK and internationally. Their reputation rests on combining technical expertise with deep local market knowledge and delivering tailored, high-quality service to landlords, investors, developers and occupiers.

What the role involves
  • Leading and managing commercial agency instructions – covering sales, lettings and acquisitions.
  • Building and developing your own client network of landlords, developers, investors and occupiers.
  • Conducting market appraisals, preparing marketing strategies, negotiating terms, and guiding clients through disposals and acquisitions.
  • Providing strategic, market-savvy advice to clients on commercial property opportunities.
  • Identifying and driving growth opportunities to expand the agency offering.
  • Mentoring junior team members and contributing to the professional development of the wider team.
  • Keeping abreast of local market trends, investment activity and legislative/market changes.
What we're looking for
  • MRICS-qualified – or suitably experienced with transferrable skills; we value potential as much as pedigree.
  • Minimum ~5 years’ experience in commercial agency, ideally with familiarity with the Cambridge market.
  • Strong client-facing and business development capabilities, excellent verbal and written communication, and proven negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to build and manage relationships with a broad and diverse client base.
  • Solid understanding of local and regional commercial property markets.
What's in it for you
  • Competitive salary and performance‑related bonuses.
  • 25 days’ holiday (rising to 28 days after 3 years), with a Holiday Buy Back Scheme.
  • Private medical cover and travel insurance (post‑probation).
  • Life assurance (4× salary), salary sacrifice pension scheme.
  • Enhanced family leave, long‑service awards, and one volunteering day per year.
  • Flexible working arrangements (hybrid working) and potential for part‑time hours (minimum 30 hours/week) for the right candidate.
  • A supportive, collaborative environment where you can significantly influence the growth and direction of the agency team.
Why this role matters

This is a chance to play a leading role within a respected and growing multi-disciplinary firm – to shape the commercial agency presence in Cambridge, build your own client base, and lead a dynamic, high‑performing team. If you have a strong track record, local insight, and ambition, this role offers genuine seniority, autonomy and long‑term potential.
