Job summary

A healthcare trust in England is looking for a dedicated Principal Clinical Psychologist to join their multidisciplinary Learning Disability teams. The ideal candidate will provide support for individuals with learning disabilities, conducting complex assessments and designing tailored interventions. A strong commitment to mental health and wellbeing is essential, along with relevant qualifications and experience in therapeutic practices. The position is fixed-term for 30 hours per week, offering a salary range of £55,690 to £62,682 pro rata.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Learning Disabilities services in the NHS.
  • Significant Post-Graduate (D.Clin Psych) experience.
  • Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Involved in complex assessment and formulation.
  • Designing complex multi-component interventions.
  • Delivering individual or group therapies, care planning, training, and consultation.

Skills

Experience of Intellectual Disability
Psychometric assessment
Therapeutic intervention (Positive Behaviour Support, CBT, DBT)

Education

Qualified Clinical Psychologist (D.Clin. Psych or equivalent)
Further training in psychological therapies
Experience in interventions with people with learning disabilities
