Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has presented for a pharmacist with clinical cancer experience including haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) to join our cancer pharmacy team. This post is a permanent position within the HSCT team to work closely with the Lead Clinical Pharmacist to manage the growing service.

As a world-leading research facility and Europe's largest HSCT centre, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver cellular therapies such as chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell treatment, which is licensed or in clinical trials.

As a registered pharmacist, you will provide a person-centred approach to care, and manage specialist pharmacy services to patients undergoing HSCT or cellular advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) for cancer or non-malignant indications. You will collaborate with the Lead Clinical Pharmacist to improve the pharmacy service for these patients and educate pharmacy and multidisciplinary staff on these innovative treatments.

Responsibilities
  • To provide highly specialised and complex evidence-based clinical advice and information to the multidisciplinary team on the care and treatment of HSCT and ATMP patients.
  • To deliver and promote high quality, cost effective, patient focused pharmaceutical care.
  • To manage the day-to-day delivery of clinical pharmacy services to HSCT and ATMP patients.
  • To manage cancer pharmacists delivering clinical pharmacy services to HSCT and ATMP patients.
  • To support the training and development of cancer pharmacists in the field of HSCT and ATMPs.
  • To support the opening and management of HSCT and ATMP clinical trials.
Qualifications and ideal candidate
  • As a registered pharmacist, you will demonstrate a person-centred approach to care and have experience in cancer pharmacy, HSCT, and ATMPs.
  • You will be committed to developing and delivering a vision for a patient-centred clinical pharmacy service.
  • You will drive clinical governance, clinical audit, practice research, and service improvement projects, and be keen to develop your career within cancer services.
