This is replacement post/s, the remit of the postholder/s will be to work within the multi-disciplinary team providing and further developing care for patients from Child Health, and to provide and develop services to the Trust's patients. In addition, the individual will be required to play an active role in the general workload of the Care Group.
It is envisaged that the appointee will contribute to the development and delivery of aspects of these services depending upon their interests and experience.
The paediatric department at King's is a PAFTA-award-winning training centre offering specialty training to paediatric speciality trainees, GPVTS trainees, foundation doctors, and dedicated CESR support and key rotations for international trainees.
This role is for a middle-grade fellow to join the paediatric emergency department with a one-day per week commitment to a specialist interest in simulation, trauma or ambulatory care.

Role Description
This post is suitable for a junior doctor at middle grade level, interested in advancing their training in paediatric emergency medicine and skills in paediatric trauma/simulation/paediatric ambulatory care. The successful candidate will also develop their administrative skills in a teaching hospital environment. Ideally trainees will have completed their MRCPCH Part 2 and will have up to date certification for Advanced Paediatric Life Support training and L3 Children's Safeguarding.
Although this appointment is not accredited for training, the appointee will be given the opportunity to participate fully in the educational and training programmes within the department and the hospital, and the competencies gained could be used to form part of Level 3 training (depending on prospective deanery approval sought by the candidate). Appointees will have a named educational supervisor from child health and a named clinical supervisor from emergency medicine.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
