A prominent NHS Trust in Hampstead seeks a Clinical Fellow for a split post in Urology, focusing on both Upper and Lower Tract care. This role involves patient management, teaching duties, and teamwork with existing staff to achieve high performance in line with NHS standards. Candidates should have a medical degree and relevant postgraduate training, with a strong commitment to patient care and teaching. The position offers varied clinical responsibilities and is essential for supporting service delivery across multiple hospital sites.
The Urology department at the Royal Free London is currently seeking 1 WTE Clinical Fellow to support the delivery of our services across all three hospital sites.
There are three roles available:
The successful applicant will be expected to work with existing staff to meet current NHS targets for patient waiting times and other performance targets.
In-patient care at the Royal Free is consultant led. The post holder will contribute to care of in-patients, rotating this responsibility with colleagues.
The post holder will have a strong commitment to the organisation and delivery of postgraduate training and will be actively involved in the training and supervision of foundation year doctors. The post holder will also teach small groups of medical students in the clinical setting during their Urology attachments.
As part of these roles, you will undertake varied clinical activity in our bladder, prostate, testicular and renal cancer services as well in our stone and general benign services. In addition, successful appointees will take part in the General Urology on-call rota, support in MDTs and participate in dedicated teaching sessions.
Appointment to this post is needed to support service redesign and reconfiguration within the department. The post holder will be responsible for out-patient and in-patient care of patients and will help the department meet national and local performance targets.
*Please note that these job plans are indicative as part of these roles a registrar on-call of the week will take place 1 in 11, which will mean all activities on this week will be dedicated to the acute service in core hours
