Overview

Senior Civil Engineer - Education & Multi-Sector Projects. Location: Birmingham or Nottingham (Hybrid Working). Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum. Benefits: Holidays, Pension, Flexible Working.

About the Role

A leading engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing team, working across education and multi-sector developments. Based in either Birmingham or Nottingham, this hybrid role offers the chance to shape key civil infrastructure schemes across the UK.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering works including site infrastructure, drainage, SUDS, and highways.
  • Undertake site inspections and produce engineering reports and assessments.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, planners, and contractors to ensure smooth project coordination.
  • Provide mentoring and support to junior team members.
  • Manage your own workload and contribute to business development when needed.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience working as a Civil Engineer in a consultancy environment.
  • Strong technical skills in infrastructure design (roads, drainage, external works).
  • Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, or similar.
  • Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
  • Chartered or working towards Chartered status (CEng, MICE or equivalent).
  • Experience in the education or public sector is a plus, but not essential.
Working Conditions
  • Hybrid working: 3 days office-based, 2 days remote or site-based.
  • Offices located in both Birmingham and Nottingham - flexible base.
  • Autonomy to manage your own diary and workload.
