About the Role
A leading engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing team, working across education and multi-sector developments. Based in either Birmingham or Nottingham, this hybrid role offers the chance to shape key civil infrastructure schemes across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of civil engineering works including site infrastructure, drainage, SUDS, and highways.
- Undertake site inspections and produce engineering reports and assessments.
- Liaise with clients, architects, planners, and contractors to ensure smooth project coordination.
- Provide mentoring and support to junior team members.
- Manage your own workload and contribute to business development when needed.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as a Civil Engineer in a consultancy environment.
- Strong technical skills in infrastructure design (roads, drainage, external works).
- Proficiency in civil engineering design software such as Civil 3D, MicroDrainage, or similar.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
- Chartered or working towards Chartered status (CEng, MICE or equivalent).
- Experience in the education or public sector is a plus, but not essential.
Working Conditions
- Hybrid working: 3 days office-based, 2 days remote or site-based.
- Offices located in both Birmingham and Nottingham - flexible base.
