Butler Ross are pleased to be supporting a global utilities organisation in their search for a highly-capable Senior Category Buyer, with a background in construction, infrastructure, or engineering projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on some of the UK's most critical, high-value projects - from multi-million to £1Billion+ in value.

This permanent position is offering a salary of £52-£57,000 + Bonus, and operates on a fully-remote basis (with occasional ad-hoc in-office/site visit requirements). Whilst this is fully-remote, you will need to be situated, and eligible to work, within the UK to be considered for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Accountability for the development of category strategies, commercial recommendations and execution of sourcing strategy.
  • Delivering multiple strategic sourcing events within your portfolio
  • Supporting the overall development and delivery of assigned category strategy
  • Identifying continuous improvement category opportunities through engagement with suppliers and stakeholders, and maximising value for money from contracts awarded.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Significant experience of strategic sourcing and category management generally
  • Procurement experience specifically relating to engineering, civil works, or large scale infrastructure construction projects
  • Prior experience delivering procurement services over the full procurement life cycle
  • An understanding of project management principles - with prior experience managing high-value procurements especially within project environments of great complexity
