About The Role

Senior Care Assistant

Meadowyrthe Residential Home is a 41-bed Residential facility located in Meadowyrthe, Staffordshire. We're looking for a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team at Nexxus Care. In this role you'll provide hands on care for residents, while also supporting and guiding the care team alongside the management team.

This is a part time position, we have a 21hour and 28hour contracts, shifts are 7am-2.30pm and 2.30pm-10pm, including alternate weekends.

About You
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead care staff during shifts, ensuring the service runs smoothly and safely.
  • Carry out staff supervisions, spot checks, and mentoring to support team development.
  • Deliver and role model person-centred care, respecting residents' choices and individuality.
  • Promote independence for residents and encourage safe, appropriate risk-taking.
  • Administer medication safely and in line with policies.
  • Complete audits and maintain high standards of care within the home.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals to support holistic care.
Experience
  • Supervisory: 1 year (preferred)
License/Certification
  • NVQ 3 (preferred or working towards)
