What You’ll Do:
  • Lead procurement activities for a diverse portfolio of globally sourced raw materials and products for resale.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of market trends affecting your assigned materials portfolio.
  • Monitor market trends and supply risks closely, and proactively implement strategies to reduce costs and risk.
  • Negotiate pricing agreements and manage tender processes with suppliers to secure favourable terms while maintaining high standards of quality and service.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring their performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company standards.
  • Participate actively in New Product Development projects by providing input on material availability, cost implications, and supplier capabilities.
  • Monitor forecast demand of all materials in your portfolio on a quarterly basis, and adjust to new information in a timely manner to ensure no disruption to production schedules and business needs.
  • Maintain accurate records in SAP systems, including supplier set‑up and price updates.
What You Bring:
  • Degree level education or equivalent, preferably Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, though other disciplines will be considered if accompanied by relevant experience.
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar purchasing role within manufacturing (preferably chemical industry), or five‑plus years’ broader purchasing experience seeking progression into senior responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of your portfolio with accountability for results delivered through effective planning and execution.
  • Experience negotiating contracts and pricing agreements with external partners.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High proficiency using IT systems such as SAP S4 (desirable) along with advanced Excel/reporting skills; MCIPS qualification or active study toward it would be advantageous.

Employees benefit from generous pension contributions (up to 15% employer), private medical insurance, an attractive annual bonus scheme, enhanced annual leave entitlements that grow with service length, 6 x death in service benefit, plus access to a Sharesave scheme promoting long‑term financial wellbeing.
