Job summary

An innovative research organisation in the UK is seeking a Senior Buyer to establish a new procurement function. You will oversee the entire procurement lifecycle and develop systems to enhance procurement activities across the team. The ideal candidate will have extensive procurement experience and strong analytical skills. This role requires working on-site in Oxford a minimum of 3 days a week.

We’re excited to be partnering with a world class innovation and research centre as they embark on an exciting growth journey.

The Senior Buyer is a newly created position within a greenfield Procurement team, that will support the Head of Procurement and wider team in delivering first class procurement activity and develop robust systems and processes across the group.

Responsibilities
  • Take responsibility across the cradle to grave procurement process for a variety of goods and services, owning the category strategy, supporting supplier onboarding, and monitoring procurement systems.
  • Lead on all areas of the purchasing process and be the key interface for stakeholder groups, managing relationships with scientists and professors.
  • Develop robust systems and processes across the group to support procurement activity and the wider team.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Broad experience across procurement categories with the ability to lead on all areas of the purchasing process.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Location: Oxford-based with on-site requirement of a minimum of 3 days per week.
  • Right to work permanently in the UK.
